They have great factual books that children enjoy reading/ listening to. The order that they do everything may/may not be chonological- I don't know (this year, with Core 1, we are doing ancient history from creation forward). BUT, I think you could use the same texts that they have outlined and do them in your own order and plan out your own teaching method. This is our first year using them, and we bought the curriculum and use their teaching guides- but you don't have to... they are real books you can buy off amazon as well.
